Visperterminen is a municipality in the eastern part of the canton of Valais, in the district of Visp. It is home to a small ski resort.

Visperterminen, the village of Heida at the entrance to the upper Vispa valley, lies at an altitude of 1'378 m. With its unspoilt nature, it is a paradise for hikers and offers fantastic views of the immaculate whiteness of the ‘4'000’ peaks of the Valais and Bernese Alps.

Surrounded by the highest peaks in Switzerland, a vineyard grows at an altitude of 1'150 metres in Visperterminen. It is the highest vineyard in Europe. Heida, a grape variety little known outside the region, is grown here. Wine tasting and a tour of the cellars and vineyards.

The Gebidumsee lake at 2'193 m, the Nanztal valley and the summit of Gebidum, one of the most beautiful vantage points in this magnificent region, are all great hiking destinations. 120 km of paths have been laid out.

Ski area:

A small ski resort has been set up in the municipality. A chairlift takes you up to Giw at an altitude of 1,962 metres. From here, a single ski run and a toboggan run of 7 km and 630 m in height difference join the resort. A ski lift takes you to the top of the ski area, on the slopes of the Rothorn at 2'313 m. It offers 336 metres of vertical drop, with the widest choice of runs in the area. A third ski lift completes the range.

The winter season generally runs from mid-December to the end of March. The chairlift also operates during the summer period, from mid-June to mid-October. The resort cooperates with its neighbouring resorts by offering a joint package via the Oberwalliser Skipass and Snowpass Valais.

15 km of hiking and snowshoe trails complete the resort's tourist offering.

In summer:

The municipality offers numerous opportunities for hiking and mountain biking. Culture, traditions and customs are practised by the villagers like nowhere else in the Valais. There are almost 30 clubs active in the fields of sport, music, culture and agriculture.
